After many days of procrastinating, I finally made something delicious. And I also developed my first vegan recipe, Matcha Oat Milk Popsicles with Tea Mochi. This recipe uses simple ingredients that you can find in The Mochi Set from Paragon Tea Room. It will take you less than 15 minutes to make these foolproof, kid-friendly popsicles.

The Mochi Set from Paragon Tea Room comes with 30g of Genmaicha, Baking Matcha, and Hojicha Bronze tea powder (a total of 3 packs), glutinous rice flour, corn starch, and Barista Edition Oat Milk from Earth’s Own. It also includes two foolproof recipes to make mochi and mochi dip at home. Click here for more details.

If you got too bored from making mochi, you can also use this set to make some popsicles, as Barista Edition Oat Milk is rich and creamy. So the flavor won’t get diluted, and instead, it remains nutty and creamy even after freezing. I also added some tiny tea mochi to the popsicles, and they surprisingly remain chewy which gives a great texture contrast for this treat.

Where can I buy Popsicle Molds?

And on a side note, if you are looking for a great popsicle mold, I highly recommend the Silikomart Silicone Mini Ice Cream Bar Mold that I got from Amazon. I like how it is oven and freezer safe, so I can use the mold for baking as well.

Prep Time 15 minutes
Freezing Time 1 day
Total Time 1 day 15 minutes
Course Dessert, Snack
Servings 8 mini popsicles

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Barista Edition Oat Milk from Earth’s Own
  • 2 g matcha powder sifted
  • 1 tbsp hot water
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 25-30 tiny mochi cubes

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, sift the matcha powder. Add sugar and hot water. Whisk until combine with no lumps. This is where you should taste your mixture and adjust the preferred sugar level.
  • In another bowl, pour the matcha mixture through a sieve. Add oat milk. Mix until combine.
  • Add 2-3 pieces of mochi into the popsicle mold. Try to evenly them across the entire popsicle. If you are using regular size popsicle molds, you might want to add more (at least 10 pieces). Add in popsicle sticks.
  • Fill the popsicle mold 3/4 full with matcha oat milk (don’t throw away the leftover milk). Put in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.
  • Once the surface of the popsicles is frozen, you can add another 2-3 pieces of mochi to each one. Fill the mold with more matcha oat milk.
  • Freeze overnight and remove the popsicles from the mold. Ready to serve.
