Magkasama 2020: a Modern Filipino Virtual Market

Last year, Vancouver had its first ever Filipino market, Magkasama. Magkasama means ‘together’ in Tagalog, and it is a free festival that spotlights Filipino culture, including food, handcrafted goods, and music. And it was one of the best markets I’ve attended. Though COVID-19 happened, nothing can stop them from hosting this year’s Magkasama. Instead, it becomes a virtual Filipino market, which you can purchase your favourite products and discover new ones online.

A Recap on PICA Kitchen Party from Vancouver International Wine Festival

In addition to the Grand Tasting, I have also attended two other events hosted by the Vancouver International Wine Festival, and one of them the PICA Kitchen Party, my favourite event of all. It was held at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICA) at Granville Island. It features international wines, paired with small bites prepared by top Vancouver chefs from various restaurants.

All you need to know at 2020 Vancouver Wine Festival, Tasting Room

I am slowly recovering from all the wine that I consumed from few weeks ago at the 2020 Vancouver Wine Festival. Despite I am not a wine drinker, I enjoyed my time, and I think this year’s wine festival was a huge success. It was my first time going, and I didn’t know what to expect until I was there.
