Though Vancouver has many Taiwanese restaurants, I haven’t found a place with a good bowl of Taiwanese beef noodles. I noticed that Torafuku launches a new lunch menu, featuring Taiwanese beef noodles. At first, I thought it was just another hyped item, but not until I tried it myself, I am impressed by its flavor and how similar it is to the ones in Taiwan.

Do you still remember the cream puff collaboration with Amy from Constellation Inspiration at BETA 5 few months ago? To celebrate BETA 5’s 8th birthday, they decided to bring them back as part of the 8th Birthday Pack. I didn’t buy the birthday pack, but instead I went lineup on Saturday to purchase some treats for Mr. and myself. The first 100 customers who purchase $25 or more can get a box of 12 pcs birthday-edition chocolate for free, and that’s the main reason for me to line up!

Torafuku is celebrating their 4th anniversary with a special omakase menu this year, which showcases signature food items, along with daily chef specials. I was lucky to make a reservation on the last day of this omakase menu. You can choose between a 7-course or a 10-course menu, which is $45/person and $55/person respectively. And of course, we went for the 10-course menu! Each set comes with a complimentary amuse bouche and handmade bonbons from Buttermere Patisserie.

Take Urban is a new hidden gem near Stadium Chinatown, and it was originally a petite Korean cafe that sells bibimbap and rice burgers. It recently reopened and transformed to a cute dessert cafe. Except the classic Korean dishes, they also sell big macarons that caught my attention. You might miss this shop, but it is totally worth your time to pay a visit here.

It was hectic last week because BETA 5 collaborated with Amy from Constellation Inspiration and launched three feature cream puffs. These three new flavors made most Vancouverites go crazy on pre-orders and lineups, just to get their hands on them. But one question always pops up – are they worth the hype? To answer this question, I gave myself an excuse to preorder all three flavors and tried them out.
