Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups white rice
  • 7-8 dried shiitake mushrooms
  • 2 Chinese sausages (pork)
  • ¼ cup dried shrimps

Instructions
 

  • The night before, wash the dried shiitake mushrooms and soak them in water overnight.
  • Do not discard the soaking water. Remove the shiitake mushrooms and set aside the water.
  • Use scissors to remove the mushroom stems, then cut the mushrooms into cubes.
  • In a small bowl, soak the dried shrimps for 5-10 minutes.
  • Roughly chop them into smaller pieces. If the dried shrimps are small, you can leave them whole.
  • Cut the Chinese sausages into small cubes.
  • In the rice cooker, add 2 cups of white rice and wash thoroughly.
  • Add the reserved mushroom water up to the 2-cup mark on the rice cooker.
  • Place the Chinese sausage and shiitake mushrooms in a small bowl.
  • Place the bowl in the steamer tray that comes with the rice cooker.
  • Select the "white rice" setting on the rice cooker and press start.
  • Once the rice is cooked, mix the Chinese sausage and shiitake mushrooms into the rice.
  • Ready to serve. Enjoy your delicious Cured Meat Rice!
