Quantum Coffee

It has been a while since my last visit. I remembered coming here a year ago when it first opened. Today, I revisited this cafe, because I won a $25 gift card at a giveaway from Quantum Coffee. However, this would not change my honest review of this cafe. When I first came here one year ago, I loved the vibe and how spacious and bright this place is. More importantly, it had a lot of space for customers to work and study. Unfortunately, this recent visit was disappointing. Everything changed.

Interior & Ambiance

This was what it used to look like:

Although the cafe’s overall look stayed unchanged, there were barely any seats for studying or working. The large round table was removed.  Instead, the only large table remained as a “laptop free” zone. Sanity is another factor I care about for any restaurant and cafe. I could not stand that there were fruit flies flying around the brewing station and in the cafe. Lastly, it has no oven to warm up the pastries, which surprised me. So I ended up eating a cold chocolate croissant.

The round table is now gone.

Mocha & Chocolate Croissant

Although I don’t know much about coffee, I still love the mocha’s bittersweet flavor – a balance of melted chocolate’s sweetness and espresso’s bitterness. And I also love using skimmed milk in my mocha, as I found whole milk was too rich for me. Sadly, Quantum Coffee did not have the option of skimmed milk, though it had alternatives, such as soy milk, macadamia milk, and coconut milk, etc. Mocha was rather sweet, which I barely tasted the espresso, so it was not my cup of tea.

Mocha | $4.50 • Chocolate Croissant | $4

Chocolate Croissant was cold. Although it was still flaky, I still wished to try a croissant with melted chocolate filling.

Overall Impression

I was quite disappointed about this recent visit to Quantum Coffee. Sanity is the main issue, and I preferred going to a cafe with a more comfortable working space. Drinks and food were both not my cup of tea, so I don’t think I would ever return to this cafe.
