likebyregina Bubble Tea is now everywhere in Vancouver. It feels like there is a new BBT place opened every other week. Everyone is obsessed with the brown sugar pearls with milk, but today I am going to bring you to a whole new world – BBT toast! Yes, you read it right, BBT on a toast brought to you by Elephant Garden Creamery.
Elephant Garden Creamery, a new-ish dessert parlour that features handcrafted ice cream. They add an Asian twist to create the most unique flavors which could not be found in elsewhere, such as Mango Coconut Sticky Rice and Hong Kong Milk Tea.
Last night, I was invited to a Yelp Elite event to try their new creation – Bubble Tea Toast. It is paired with Houjicha Cheese Tea or Hong Kong Milk Tea ice cream. Each order starts by putting the toast in the oven to get the warm and soft texture, with a crunchy crust.
Then, spreading a thin layer of butter along with a spoonful of cream cheese mousse. Surprisingly, that hint of salty flavour pairs smoothly with the overall sweetness.
Next, the brown sugar pearls are sitting perfectly on the toast, which gives a chewy texture to the crunchy toast, along with the creamy and smooth ice cream. It is finished off with drizzles of condensed milk and brown sugar and a lot of biscuit crumbs.
When you eat it, try having every elements in one bite! From the fluffy warm toast, chewy pearls, smooth ice cream, to the crispy biscuit crumbs, it feels like drinking BBT but with ice cream instead. I recommend it, not only because it is delicious, but it is also worth the price. For only $12, you can get this to share with your friend, which I believe it is a better deal than any $8 brown sugar peal milk tea!
Overall Impression
I ended up buying a pint of ice cream (mango coconut sticky rice) home for Ethan to try. I will update the blog once I tried it! Overall, I really enjoyed my first experience in here. Unlike other shop, the ice cream here is less sweet. I also admire their creativity in some of the flavours, such as Horchata, Kumquat Marmalade, Avocado Milk, etc. If you would like to try with small group of friends, I recommend to try their flight, which includes four scoop of ice cream with your choice of flavours for $12.
