Ingredients

  • Lemons: the key ingredient of this recipe. Recommend using large-size lemons, as the shells are used as jello containers, and the pulp is for the lemon juice.
  • Oolong tea leaves: you can use any type of oolong tea. It provides a delicate and slightly floral flavor that complements the tangy lemon juice.
  • Hot water: Used to brew the oolong tea. The recommended water temperature to brew oolong tea is 190-200°F (87-93°C). If the water temperature is too high, it can result in a bitter and astringent taste.
  • Osmanthus honey: osmanthus honey adds sweetness. It can also help to bring out the tea’s natural sweetness and smoothness, providing a light and refreshing taste. You can substitute it with honey or any sweetener.
  • Lemon juice: freshly squeezed lemon juice provides a bright and tangy flavor that pairs well with the subtle floral notes of the oolong tea.
  • Gelatin powder: Binds the ingredients together and gives the jello its texture. The gelatin powder’s amount varies depending on the brand. Agar powder is another great substitute, as it can be dissolved in a hot mixture.

Health Benefits

Oolong tea has been shown to contain antioxidants and polyphenols that can help reduce inflammation and improve heart health. It has also been linked to increased metabolism and potential weight loss, making it a great ingredient to include in your diet.

Lemons, too, have numerous potential health benefits. They are a great source of vitamin C, which can help support immune system function and promote healthy skin. Additionally, some studies have suggested that lemon juice may have antibacterial properties and could help improve digestion.

Osmanthus honey is believed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, which can support the immune system and promote overall well-being.
